Accomplishments

Developed an integrated precinct-wide mobility plan
- Spearheaded the Houston Ship Channel Security District, a model for homeland port security at the national level
- Championed key bills in State Congress related to comprehensive ethics reform, law enforcement and graffiti abatement, illegal gaming machines, to name a few
- Enforced environmental guidelines in precinct construction projects and fleet retrofitting
- Successfully worked with mayors, constables, ISDs and the private sector to achieve sustainable partnerships
- Implemented top technological standards in all precinct operations

- Defender of voter rights, supported voter registration and promotion campaigns; teamed up with precinct judges to identify and resolve matters regarding voting sites and access to voter information
- Experience at the bench enables her to address complex judicial issues such as alternatives to juvenile detention, jail overcrowding and bail bond reform; active speaker on these topics at forums and town hall meetings
- Cast member of Night Court; for twelve consecutive years, a benefit play series to raise funds for charities of the Houston Bar Association
- Top elected Latina in Harris County, strong supporter of Inner City community organizations; helped preserve the integrity of the Gus Wortham Golf Course, Buffalo Bend Nature Park and J.R. Harris Park, all in Houston's East End; acted as Grand Marshal to numerous Hispanic-themed parades throughout Precinct Two
